On March 13th, Tech-Takeback proudly launched probably the world’s first Makers Market in a meanwhile lease shop, using recycled shop fitting and where every item is made from waste or upcycled materials!
Cllr Tim Rowkins joined us to officially open this exciting new space in Pavillion Buildings (as part of the Royal Pavillion). This new Hub4Circularity is more than just a market—it’s a hub for repair workshops, hands-on circular economy activities, and education for businesses and the public. The Makers Market is the first initiative under the Southeast Hub4Circularity (SEEH4C), a groundbreaking programme led by Tech-Takeback , Claire Potter Design, and Kent County Council, as part of the United Circles EU Horizon 2024 project. Our goal? To foster industrial symbiosis across Sussex, Surrey, and Kent, enabling businesses to collaborate in creating circular solutions. What you’ll find at the Brighton Hub4Circularity - Makers Market:
We would like to say a huge thank you and congratulations to our Makers Market partners, Xanthe Noble, Curator and Development Director, and Glenn Heaton, Chief Executive of PHASES SOCIAL ENTERPRISE for their expertise in turning empty spaces into vibrant arts and community hubs…and for bringing a host of amazing local creatives together to showcase circular making in the first ever Makers Market! If you're in Brighton, come visit the Hub4Circularity - Makers Market and experience the future of sustainable innovation firsthand!
