We care about your personal data

When you make a donation to Tech-Takeback, you confirm that you are happy for all data to be erased and that you are either the device owner, or have permission from the device owner, to destroy personal information.  

​Our secure data erasure process is highly effective. Our software works by overwriting every single piece of data on a device or drive, ensuring that nothing is left; not even the original operating system. A second process verifies that this overwriting has been successful. Only if the software can verify that 100% of your data is irrecoverable will the erasure be considered to have passed.

If the erasure cannot be 100% guaranteed, the hard drive will be destroyed to ensure that data is inaccessible.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Your data cannot be recovered after data erasure. Please make sure you export any files or information that you may want to keep before donating your device to us.

We cannot recover files from a wiped hard drive and it is against our policy to access any files of a donated device.
