Material Focus | Recycle Your Electricals
"Our vision is to live in a world where materials are never wasted. We’re on a mission to transform the way we all think about our unwanted electricals from useless waste to valuable resources." Material Focus lead the UK-wide Recycle Your Electricals campaign which aims to motivate and make it easier for everyone to reuse and recycle unwanted electricals, ensuring we make the most of the valuable materials in them. Alongside Brighton & Hove City Council, the Recycle Your Electricals campaign has supported the RevaluElectricals collection service for unwanted small electricals which is run by Tech-Takeback and The ZeroNet. |
Digital Brighton & Hove
Digital Brighton & Hove have been working in the local community since 2015 to improve digital access across the city. Having trained over 400 Digital Champions and developed a network of community organisations, charities and small businesses, Local Authority and The Universities, they aim to help local organisations and their service users improve their digital skills, knowhow and capability. Working in partnership with Tech-Takeback, Digital Brighton & Hove has been able to loan or donate equipment to many vulnerable families, and have supported many more to get online and develop essential digital skills through the Digital Champions network. This work has been especially important during the Covid-19 pandemic, which has drastically increased the need for digital support as the rapid transformation of essential services to online access left many people cut off. Our partnership remains crucial in supporting those with physical and mental health difficulties, children unable to attend online classes and increasing numbers of people finding themselves homeless, unemployed or claiming online benefits. |
